Selangor - Yellow Vented Bulbul

This young fledging was just photograph a few minute ago. With only one parent attending to it, I guess it would be the female which was attending to it. Though this bird is know to breed year round this individual were surprisingly almost same time with another nest up north in Perak. The adult bird was observed feeding on bread, picking up small piece to feed the young. At the same time the adult was seen chasing away Eurasian Tree Sparrow. Still a very good sight. The most happy thing is that this picture was taken with my new adapter. A much more steadier unit with cable release. hehehe :)

To began with is number of plumage to take note off. As mention earlier without subspecies variation this make it much easier for us, as our focus now is into age-class. Total of 5 age class with 5 plumage variation distinctively observed in field
Age-Class as below

1st Plumage - 1 to >2 year
2nd Plumage - 2to >3 year
3rd plumage - 3 to >4 year
4th plumage - 4 to >5 year
5th plumage - 5th year onwards

Too many the 1st 3rd year and full grown adult plumage are most observed. In later part we will discuss differentiating the different plumage of White Bellied Sea Eagle.

The New Begining - Whiskered Treeswift

This year started with great excitement. I already have three great lifer.
1. Tufted Duck
2. Red-Billed Blue Magpie
3. Mountain Peacock Pheasant

In term of photography my luck is changing too. It been year I was trying to get this species photo without great success. Usually it will be a perch at a point of don't bother. Today the Whiskered Treeswift provide a good opportunity for me to take good photograph. Honestly a little climbing with my scope and other equipment to get this shot make rather worth it.

Butterfly and Moth - The Common Mime

This species was wandering around my garden back at my hometown lately. Was rushing to keep my cloth when I saw it so decided to take a picture in near raining condition. Technically this species is rather uncommon in my location where is more common in my home in KL rather then in Taiping.

Ever since them I only see them up north. In some location it reach up to 500 bird but today in this location it barely reach 20. Hope to see more of them in near future.

Selangor - Buffy Fish Owl

The most common Fish Owl in Malaysia, Buffy Fish Owl. As my knowledge serve me correct, the other fish owl is the Brown Fish Owl and there is only one person who have seen it and live to talk about it. Feed mainly on fish but we have observed them with Krait and other snake both venomous and non venomous. Also observed with small reptile. Probably their menu is rather wider compare to what we know.
