Rusty-breasted Cuckoo

A rather common cuckoo to be heard in many place. Female and juvenile are very similar to Plaintive Cuckoo and male on slight different on throat. The Rusty-breasted Cuckoo got his name from the colour of the underpart particularly the breast area which also a key characteristic different from Plaintive Cuckoo which have grey breast.

Knowing the call provide all the difference and provide the ease of tracking down this cuckoo. Today one male show up. Stood near to us but with poor lighting, it does still provide some photographic opportunity for us.
